How To Start An Affiliate Marketing Business in a Weekend
Published: · Updated:
Affiliate marketing isn’t complex: You share awesome stuff, people buy it, you make money. But the “make money” part depends on doing it smartly. This is your weekend blueprint to get started.
Day 1: Get Your Head Right & Pick Your Thing
- Mind Over Matter: “The One Thing” is your mantra. Focus on one thing, don’t be a squirrel chasing shiny objects.
- What’s Your Jam? You gotta care about what you’re selling. Passion fuels the long haul. But…does anyone buy stuff in this niche? Is there too much competition? Balance that heart with head.
- Product Hunt: Hit up Clickbank, Amazon Associates, WarriorPlus, the usual suspects. What speaks to you? What could you talk about ALL DAY?
Day 2: Make Something, Build the Trap
- Pick Your Poison: Video type? Blogger? Paid ads your style? Each is fine, just pick one and own it for now.
- The Funnel Isn’t Scary: No one buys on sight. You need a simple way to capture emails - a freebie in return for an email works like a charm. Keep it simple (both the tech and content part).
- Content is King: Help people, NOT sell them. Reviews, tutorials, the good stuff. Your affiliate links are sprinkled throughout, not the entire point.
Day 3: Unleash it, Fix it, Share It
- Hit Publish (Finally): Don’t overthink. Launch that blog, post that video! It won’t be perfect, that’s for version 2.0.
- SEO is Your Friend: TubeBuddy, SEMrush…don’t get geeky with them, but make sure your content isn’t lost in the void.
- Where’s Your Crowd? Don’t just spam links everywhere. Find the online groups, forums, places people who’d LOVE your niche hang out. Be helpful, not slimy.
The Extra Bits That Matter
- The Feds Care: Disclose those affiliate links, it’s the law, and it’s the right thing to do.
- Level Up: This is the start, not the finish line. Courses, learning from others… invest in making yourself smarter.
Bottom Line
Persistence beats brilliance. Do this every week, and in a year, you’ll be surprised where you end up.
Stay awesome,
Tim
